Rossini’s opera, La Donna Del Lago, will be broadcast live via satellite from the Royal Opera House in London to Showcase cinema at Teesside Leisure Park, Stockton, on Monday, May 27, at 6.45pm and will be repeated on Sunday, June 2, at 1pm. OUTDOOR FESTIVAL: Grove Hill is holding its fifth outdoor festival on Wednesday, May 29, at the Acklam Iron and Steelworks club on Middlesbrough’s Park Road South which last year attracted more than 1,000 revellers. From noon there will be a bouncy castle, giant inflatable slides, a magician and face painter. Local traders will be selling cakes, jams, crafts and hanging baskets and there will be appearances by Cleveland Fire Brigade and Cleveland Police.
ANIMAL MAGIC: Shoppers will have the chance to get up close to some rare and exotic animals at Teesside Shopping Park this half term. It is holding a free ‘Animal Magic’ day on Friday, May 31, from 11am to 4pm. A series of 20 minute shows will be presented by animal expert Stephen Rowlands who will introduce snakes, tarantulas, lizards, mongoose, skunks, frogs, parrots and macaws and more.
