WATCH STOLEN: Cleveland Police are appealing for information after a watch of great sentimental value was stolen from an elderly lady’s handbag as she shopped in Lidl on Newport Road in Middlesbrough, between 4pm and 4.45pm on Friday, May 17. The 79-year-old victim left her open black handbag on an empty checkout till point and turned to pay at the checkout she was using but when she picked up her bag, she realised that a brown velvet box containing a gold Raymond Weil watch had been stolen from the bag. The watch – described as a gold watch with a brown leather strap, worth around £1,500 - had been a gift from her late husband was of great sentimental value to her. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Rachel Morgan of Middlesbrough Police on the non-emergency number 101.

FRACTURED SKULL: Cleveland Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault which happened in the early hours of Sunday, May 19 in Middlesbrough, which left a man with a fractured skull. The attack happened at around 2.15am when a man and woman were walking along Corporation Road towards Oak Street and a male punched the 31-year-old male victim to his jaw, causing him to fall to the floor and hit his head on the pavement, causing him to suffer a fractured skull. The man attended James Cook University Hospital and was admitted for treatment. Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact PC Mark West of Middlesbrough Police on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
