ARCHER’S Jersey Ice Cream will be hoping for a sprinkling of good weather this summer when it opens a new parlour on Redcar seafront.
The family business, run by John and Sue Archer, will move into the ground floor of the Palace Hub, a space aimed at creative and digital businesses which stands on the site of the former Palace Theatre.
The couple and their three children started the family business and milking Jersey cows at their farm at Walworth Gate, near Darlington, back in 2002, after losing their original Holstein Friesians to Foot and Mouth disease.
They use milk from their award-winning herd to create a wide range of ice cream flavours including cinder toffee and caramel, rhubarb, and raspberry pavlova.
Sue Archer of Archers Jersey Ice Cream said: “This is a great opportunity for us, we love the North-East coast and we are really looking forward to opening in the Palace Hub, this summer.
Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Councillor Olwyn Peters, added: "This is fantastic news for Redcar and we are thrilled to welcome Archer's who are renowned across the North-East for their delicious ice cream.”
