TEENAGERS are being urged to make the most of a £4.3m youth centre which is extending its opening hours.
Myplace, which soon celebrates its first birthday, offers an internet cafe, theatre, recording and film studios and an alcohol-free nightclub, alongside health and education support services.
The centre opened last year following a successful bid led by the young people for a £4.3 million grant from the Big Lottery Fund which enabled the complete renovation of the historic Custom House building in Middlesbrough’s Middlehaven.
As of this weekend it will be open every Saturday from 10am to 4pm for young people aged nine to 19, and up to 25 for those with special needs.
For more information on activities and its services, drop in to the centre in North Street, call 01642-256310 or email myplace@middlesbrough.gov.uk
