Groundworks will be carried out at Teesside High School in Eaglescliffe, Stockton, over the Easter holidays to upgrade its tennis courts to an all-weather surface providing a midi hockey pitch and training facility, an all-weather netball court and two five-a-side football pitches. A new playground is also being built for children in its preparatory school.

HOMES PLANNED: A planning application to build 26 new homes on the land of the former Netherfield House on Fulbeck Road in Middlesbrough will be discussed by Middlesbrough Council’s Planning and Development Committee on April 5, at 1.30pm in the Middlesbrough Town Hall’s Mandela Room.

EASTER TREAT: Staff from Wynyard Park near Billingham have handed out 2,000 free Easter eggs to all 65 companies on the 700-acre site in the run-up to the Easter holidays.

SLOW DANCE: Zumba dance classes to a slower beat are being held at the Southlands Centre in Middlesbrough starting on Fridays from April 5 between 1pm and 1.45pm. There will be no fast-paced routines so the sessions are aimed at people of all ages or those new to the Latin-inspired fitness dance craze. The programme speeds up the metabolism, works the muscles and burns fat for up to 24 hours after exercising.
