A SECOND man has died after a crash which claimed the life of a teenager more than a week ago.
Police have announced that Jonathon Cruddas-Ginks, 23, of Washington , died in hospital over the weekend.
He had been in a critical condition since the accident on Sunday, September 9.
Jay McCormick, 19, of Pinewood Avenue, Washington was fatally injured in the accident when the Suzuki Swift he was travelling in ploughed into three parked cars in Ashdale, a residential street in Mount Pleasant, Washington, Wearside .
Two other men, aged 34 and 25, who were also travelling in the vehicle were arrested but, following inquiries, have been released and will face no further action.
Inquiries are ongoing into how the crash happened and anyone with information is asked to contact the force’s road safety unit on 101 ext 69191.
