NEW CHIEF: Hartlepool Council appointed local man Dave Stubbs as its next Chief Executive at a meeting of the Full Council. Councillors unanimously supported the recommendation of a cross-party Appointments Panel to award the 64-year-old the key role. Born and bred in Hartlepool, Dave Stubbs replaces former Chief Executive Paul Walker who retired last year.

CARD FAIR: A Christmas craft fair will be held at St Nicholas Parish Hall, Bow Street, Guisborough on Saturday, November 10 from 10am until 3pm. Crafts include jewellery, knitted jackets, cushions, Christmas cards and knitted toys.
