AN innovative scheme is offering firms the chance to create new apprenticeship and employment opportunities.
The Tees Valley Flexible Routeway, funded by the Department of Work and Pensions and delivered by the five Tees Valley local authorities, focuses on helping local unemployed people find employment opportunities and training.
More than 50 businesses are engaged in the scheme in Middlesbrough, and Middlesbrough Council and the other Tees Valley local authorities are keen to hear from other small to medium employers who want a helping hand in creating apprenticeship opportunities.
The scheme offers employers the chance to take on apprentices and provides them with the following help up-skilling grants of up to £1,500, dedicated team to support the recruitment of new apprentices, human resource and employment legislation workshops and self-employment workshops.
