TWO vehicles were damaged when youths threw bricks and stones from a bridge in Stockton on Sunday.
A minibus and a bus had their windows broken when the youths threw the missiles from the town's Millennium Bridge at passing traffic.
The police issued a warning in response to the incidents.
Acting Sergeant Ian Brown, of Stockton neighbourhood policing team, said: "These types of incidents are extremely dangerous and can cause serious accidents or even fatalities.
"Those responsible may think that what they are doing is harmless or a bit of fun, but the reality is that incidents such as these are dealt with extremely seriously and we will take action against any perpetrators.
"It is essential that the people responsible stop what they are doing before someone is seriously injured or even killed."
Anyone with information about the incidents, which took place between 6.30pm and 7.40pm, is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555-111.
