STAR Wars came to the streets of one of the region's towns on Saturday.
A stormtrooper and a sandman, both characters from the Star Wars movies, flew in from the Galactic Empire to the That's Entertainment store in Captain Cook Square, Middlesbrough.
The event was held in aid of the Dreamflight children's charity, which helps the lives of seriously ill and disabled children by taking them on the holiday of a lifetime.
Carl Tierney, assistant manager at the shop, said: "There were hundreds of people outside the shop, young and old, getting their pictures taken. It was fun for the Christmas shoppers and it did a bit of good for a great charity at the same time."
Photographs with the Star Wars characters were free, but shoppers were encouraged to make a donation to the Dreamflight charity.
