A MOTORCYCLE club has handed over £39,095 to the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) after a year of fundraising.
The Boundary motorcycle club, based in the NorthEast, has now raised more than £350,000 through its adventurous fundraising escapades since its formation.
The group was started in June 2006 specifically to raise money for the GNAAS, and later the same year it also decided to help Zoe's Place Baby Hospice.
Organiser Brian Laverick, a retired police officer, said: "Members of the group never cease to amaze me with their commitment to raising funds for our two charities.
"Their hard work has without doubt helped the air ambulance to save lives, and for the children at Zoe's Baby Hospice helped towards providing them with first-class facilities."
Lynne Simmons, fundraising team manager at GNAAS, received the cheque from the group and one of its biggest backers, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.
She said: "Biking is not a cheap pastime so a special thanks must go to all those in the Boundary group, who dedicate so much of their time and money to help us out."
