TEENAGERS are being given the chance to learn new skills to help them secure employment in the future.
The TTE Technical Training Group is working with St Peter's RC College of Maths and Computing, in South Bank, near Middlesbrough, to use its experience in preparing young people for employment.
Ten students, aged 13 and 14, will complete a level two certificate in employability and personal development, which aims to equip them with the necessary skills and experience to apply for jobs, such as CV writing and interview experience.
Norma Ithurralde, assistant headteacher at St Peter's, said: "This course has a solid place in the school curriculum and it is really helping to building the students' confidence."
Dave Thompson, partnership manager at TTE, said: "We hope to be able to offer students the chance to increase their skills set for years to come."
