A SERVICE to mark the return of a Colour for a now defunct sea cadet troop attracted scores of former and present-day cadets.
The Colour was presented by Mildred Patterson, the widow of Lieutenant Commander Tom Patterson, who was the commanding officer of Middlesbrough Sea Cadets in the Seventies, to the Tees and Wear District of Sea Cadets which no longer exists.
After being missing for a number of years, the Colour was found in Hartlepool and handed to the Middlesbrough Sea Cadets.
A parade, led by Hartlepool Sea Cadets Band, formed in the quad of Middlesbrough Town Hall before marching to All Saints Church, Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, for the service, led by Father Harry Hopkins, Teesside District Chaplain, and Reverend Glynn Holland.
Cadets from Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Guisborough, Redcar and Stockton all joined the parade and service.
