MORE than 270 rockets have been seized in a haul of fireworks by police.
Officers from Cleveland Police swooped on two addresses in South Bank, near Middlesbrough, yesterday.
Inspector Guy Hall said: "We will be continuing to seize unlawfully-held fireworks such as these when we receive any information of their existence.
"Fireworks are inherently dangerous and cause a significant amount of anti-social behaviour for people living in the area."
Chief Inspector Mark Thornton added: "The community can expect to see increased patrols in the area as we work with our partner agencies to ensure the safety of the people of Redcar and Cleveland, and I urge anyone with information about those causing anti-social behaviour through the use of fireworks to contact us."
