TALENTED students have been given a creative masterclass by world renowned artist Mackenzie Thorpe to help develop their skills.
The 20 sixth-form students from across the region joined the Middlesbrough-born artist to embark on a voyage of self-discovery to produce their own piece of work.
The artist, who has an exhibition at Teesside University, is famed for capturing the heart and emotion of his working class background.
The artist, who is a double honorary graduate of the university after being awarded a Master of Arts degree in 2000 and Doctor of Arts ten years later, has created ten pieces for an exhibition at the university.
The Middlesbrough Murals is on display at the university's Constantine Gallery until Saturday, October 29. The exhibition is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday. For more information visit tees.ac.uk/mackenzie.
