CHURCH members are volunteering their DIY skills to help those in need in their community.
The Springboard Project has been set up by the 200strong congregation of All Saints' Church, Preston-onTees, Eaglescliffe. The idea is that members will help out those in need with any small jobs, such as overgrown gardens, exercising dogs, putting up curtains and decorating.
Members have been distributing leaflets about the project, which will run from next Monday to Saturday, July 23.
The group will also deploy litter-picking teams to tidy streets and public spaces.
Minister John Lambert said: "We are really excited about Springboard. We think it's good news for Preston-on-Tees.
