A ROAD safety event will include a host of familyfriendly activities next Sunday.
Cleveland Police are holding their annual Ridewell event at Preston Park in Eaglescliffe, Stockton. It features The Imps, a motorcycle display team whose members are aged between six and 16.
Other attractions include demonstrations from the Swan Yamaha Superbike Team, Newcastle Harley Davidsons and Tr iumph North-East and the Tr ials Arena. There will also be live music provided by local band 101.
Police officers will lead education sessions for motorcycles and drivers in abid to reduce the number of bikers killed on the roads.
In 1999, when the event was first launched, there were eight motorcyclist fatalities.
Last year that number had been reduced to one.
The event is being sponsored by car dealership, Simon Bailes Peugeot and Winn Solicitors.
Sergeant Paul Dee, of Cleveland and Durham specialist operations unit, who is organising the event, said: "Our priority is to get road safety across to the public and we do this effectively by attracting as many visitors as possible to the event."
