A SOCIAL club for adults of mixed abilities is celebrating a milestone anniversary.
The Friday Night Club, held at Southlands Leisure Centre, in Middlesbrough, is throwing a party to celebrate its 21st anniversary.
Activities held weekly for able and disabled people over 16 include dodgeball, kwik cricket, football, quiz nights, hockey and treasure hunts.
Les Walker, 47, who has been a regular over the past 21 years, said: "The club has helped me meet new friends and has enabled me to work in a great place like the Southlands Centre.
"It is really good that it has been going for so long and I hope it carries on for many years."
To celebrate the club's landmark, a disco party is taking place today, from 7pm to 9pm.
Tricia Farrow, assistant manager at the Southlands Centre, said: "The people who attend and help run the Friday Night Club deserve huge congratulations for making it a success over such a long time.
"The club is the only socialising some of our customers get to do with others with the same disability, so it is vitally important and also a huge amount of fun."
New members are always welcome to attend the club.
People can just turn up from 7pm to 9pm, on a Friday, or contact reception on 01642-300428.
