HUNDREDS of youngsters from across a Teesside town tested their fitness against each other in a range of events.
They were taking part in the Middlesbrough Primary Schools Athletics Association's Quadkids Athletics Championships, at Clairville Stadium.
The event, organised by Middlesbrough Council's sports development team, attracted nearly 500 year five and six children representing ten schools from across the town.
The competition is part of the athletics association's annual calendar of events. Other events this year have included sports hall athletics and crosscountry.
Quadkids will see youngsters try their hand at four events including a 75m sprint, a 600m run and standing long-jump.
From this event, a team will be selected to represent Middlesbrough in the Tees Valley Primary School Athletics Championships.
