AN information event targeted at people with learning disabilities, their carers and families is being held.
People will be able to try out free activities such as tai chi and food-tasting at the event, which takes place on Friday, from 10am to 2.30pm, at the TAD Centre in Ormesby Road, Middlesbrough.
There will be short presentations throughout the day, a film by drama group Shout Your Mouth and 20 advice and information stalls.
Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, Skills for People and the Middlesbrough 1st charity have joined forces to organise the Your Health Matters promotional day for local people, in support of Learning Disability Week.
David Hamilton, from Tees Community Learning Disability Services, said: "This is a great opportunity for people to find out more about their local services and the new developments that are occurring, to improve health for people with learning disabilities."
