PLANS to revamp schools are set to get the go-ahead as councillors look to bring them up to standard despite losing millions of pounds of Government support.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's cabinet members willmeet today to look at investing £3.5m on school repairs after the coalition Government scrapped its £90m Building Schools for the Future programme.
The cabinet report highlights a proposed spend of £1.9m on essential roofing, windows and rewiring at eight schools and one college and £1.5m on various minor structural works, access issues and £500,000 to complete capital works at Dormanstown Primary School.
