CREEPY crawlies more used to tropical habitats than a suburb of Middlesbrough will be on display as part of a minibeasts roadshow.
Giant African land snails, large millipedes, hissing cockroaches, scorpions, a blue tongue skink and tarantulas will come face to face with youngsters, who will be able to handle them too. The event is being organised by the Boro Becks team at Berwick Hills allotments on Sunday, June 26, from 10am to 4pm.
Sammy Brown, project co-ordinator for the Boro Becks Team, said: "The minibeast roadshow is an excellent way for children to learn more about both the minibeasts on their doorstep and from further afield.
"Visitors will be able to handle the minibeasts and have a good look at these fascinating creatures very close up.
"We hope the roadshow will be a real hit for all the family as long as people aren't too scared."
There will be bug hunts, creepy crawly crafts, a climbing wall, competitions and more in the allotments in the area by the sculptured gateway, off Bradhope Road and opposite Burnsall Road.
