A FILTHY kitchen and a mouse infestation has landed the owners of a take-away with a £3,000 fine.
When environmental health officers visited Kebab Centre, in Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, on January 10, they found dirty equipment and work surfaces as well as evidence of vermin.
Take-away owners Shazad Ali and Safia Bibi, who pleaded guilty at Teesside Magistrates' Court were charged under the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006. They were each ordered to pay £1,500, plus £270 towards costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
