A MOTORCYCLE training scheme in Hartlepool is to continue after groups joined forces to secure its future.
Improvement work to road surfaces within the grounds of Catcote School Business and Enterprise College have enabled the site to retain its status as an approved training venue for Ridewell Tees Valley.
The works were carried out thanks to a partnership between the school, C&A Pumps, Hartlepool Borough Council and Ridewell Tees Valley.
Alan Roberts, a C&A Pumps director, said: "When we realised that winter weather damage to road surfaces and site roads was causing serious concern over road safety at Catcote School Business and Enterprise College, we had no hesitation in offering our services to carry out repairs."
Alan Chapman, the college's headteacher, said: "This is a fantastic scheme that not only provides a good service but ensures that riders young and old are safe when out on the road."
Training is available for riders from 16-year-olds who can ride scooters through to veteran riders with years of experience.
