A POPULAR urban farm has witnessed a record number of births this spring.
Newham Grange Country Farm, in Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, has welcomed 29 lambs including 13 Kerry Hill, 12 Whitefaced Woodland, two Cameroon and two Cameroon-Soay cross.
Cows have also been productive with 15 calves, including British White and Beef Shorthorn breeds.
Twenty ducklings and 25 chicks have also hatched and the birth of a baby donkey is expected any day.
Richard Buckley, duty officer at the farm, which is in Wykeham Way, said: "It's been a really hectic time with animals springing out all over the place. With all the improvements in the facilities here at Newham Grange Country Farm and the wonderful weather we have had it has been one of the best springs so far."
Technology has kept animal lovers up to date with births with regular news and photos posted online via Facebook, Twitter and Flickr.
As well as animals, the family farm also offers a play and picnic area, a willow maze, petting area, mini tractors, a farmhouse cafe and a new farm shop.
Until the end of May, visitors can download a voucher which allows one child in free with a paying adult at newhamgrangefarm.com
