TWO dedicated supporters of the RNLI have been honoured by royalty.
David Cammish, of Redcar lifeboat station, and John Porter, of Scarborough station, were honoured for their work by the Duke of Kent.
About 100 presentations to RNLI workers around the country were made by the duke, who is president of the RNLI.
RNLI spokeswoman Louise Barth said: "Our fundraising and lifeboat station volunteers are the lifeblood of the RNLI. They may not actually go out to sea to rescue people, but without their dedication and hard work, it would be impossible for our lifeboat crews to carry on saving lives.
"The annual presentation of awards is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the commitment of all our volunteers."
