HUNDREDS of youngsters tested their steely determination when they tackled a multi-discipline sports challenge.
More than 900 children took part in the Tata Kids of Steel triathlon when they swam, ran and cycled their way to fitness.
The free event, which took place at Saltburn Leisure Centre, is one of 18 mini triathlon events taking place in the UK this year thanks to the support of the steel manufacturer.
Tata Steel works manager, Dave Nicol, said: "The event is great as it gets kids involved in one of the UK's fastest-growing sports, one they may never have considered before.
"Our aim is to get children excited about sport and to encourage participation in triathlon at a grass roots level.
"Our partnership with the British Triathlon Federation enables us to promote the benefits of this brilliant sport and to encourage youngsters to be more active and lead healthier lifestyles."
