A CYCLIST suffered several fractures after being involved in a collision with a car yesterday morning.
The 60-year-old was taken to North Tees General Hospital, suffering from four broken ribs, and a fractured collarbone and cheekbone.
The injuries were caused when a Seat Leon travelling south along Walker Street, Thornaby, towards Gilmour Street, collided with the cyclist, who was riding along a footpath before entering the carriageway.
The 25-year-old female driver of the Seat was uninjured after the collision, which happened at about 7.35am.
