A HOUSING estate is having a spring spruce up as a major revamp gets under way.
Parts of Hemlington, in Middlesbrough, will have a facelift including planting, new footpaths and metal artwork on the site of demolished flats.
Erimus Housing has teamed up with Groundwork North-East to transform the derelict site after listening to residents' concerns.
The work will include tree and shrub planting to encourage wildlife, a climbing rock and timber features in a circular area focused on the land just off Earls Court Road.
Chris Smith, managing director of the housing group, said: "Residents are our priority and we want to ensure we continually work closely with them tomeet their needs, as well as those of wider communities."
