A TEENAGE tearaway has been given an anti-social behaviour order to curb his reign of terror on a Middlesbrough estate.
David Woodier has been banned from hanging around in a gang, intimidating residents and drinking in public in the Hemlington area of the town.
The 18-year-old was given the two year order at Teesside Magistrates Court after hearing evidence from local residents and Middlesbrough Councils neighbourhood safety team.
Woodier, of Fairfax Court, Hemlington, had been involved in persistent anti-social behaviour that caused months of misery for residents.
Neighbourhood safety officer Steve Crick said: "David Woodier has been part of a group of youths that has been causing problems in the area for over a year.
"Despite repeated warnings and interventions, he continued his anti-social behaviour, causing considerable problems and disturbance for law-abiding residents.
"However, with evidence from the neighbourhood police team, street wardens and residents, I was able to secure this order to ban him from the area.
"That will undoubtedly improve the quality of life for the residents in Hemlington and if he breaches the order he runs the added risk of a spell behind bars."
