A POLICE community support officer is swapping the streets of Guisborough for the Great China Wall to raise funds for charity.
PCSO Paul Payne is taking up the 50-mile challenge for Kidney Research UK.
The 40-year-old, of Yarm, near Stockton, is encouraging other people to join him on the trek.
He said: "When I saw there was an opportunity to help out and raise a large amount of money, I just couldnt turn it down. It really is a once in a lifetime opportunity, as well as a chance to support a fantastic cause.
"Ive received a huge amount of support from everyone at work, not to mention the wider community."
The charity is looking to tempt 50 people from the region to take on the challenge.
The nine-day trek takes place from October 6-15 as part of the charitys 50th anniversary celebrations.
