RESIDENTS are being urged to give their views on plans to encourage more creative housing developments.
Redcar and Cleveland council has drawn up guidelines which should lead to improved designs for residential areas, from schemes of just a few houses to large-scale projects.
The draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), once agreed, will be used by the Council when it determines planning applications in the future.
Councillor Lynn Pallister, the council's cabinet member for housing and neighbourhood renewal, said: "This is an important consultation as we want to ensure that all future developments in the Borough are of the highest possible standard."
The consultation documents will be available until February 18 for people to give their views.
They can be seen at the Council's main offices at Belmont House, Guisborough; Town Hall, Eston; and Redcar and Cleveland House, Redcar; as well as at all libraries in the Borough.
And they will also be available at www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/ldf where comments can be left online.
Anyone wanting to comment on the documents, but who does not have access to the Internet, can use a form which will be available from main council offices and libraries.
