A MOUNTAIN rescue team had a busy afternoon helping two bikers who were badly injured in woodland within an hour of each other.
Cleveland Search and Rescue were called to assist in the recovery of a 35-year-old man who suffered head and back injuries after falling from his bike in Errington Woods, near Guisborough on Tuesday.
He was given pain relief and immobilised at the scene, before being airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough. His condition is described as stable and "not life threatening".
And the team were back in the same woods an hour later to help get another mountain biker to the air ambulance.
This time a 37-year-old man, from the Marske area, sustained a serious fall while coming down one of the steep slopes in the woods.
Again the cyclist was airlifted to James Cook University Hospital for treatment to his injuries.
