A TASTE of South America was brought to life when pupils were treated to a Peruvian experience.
Children at Durham Lane Primary School sampled salsa dancing, pan pipes and traditional dress when Latin Heart called into the Eaglescliffe school.
"It was fantastic," said Deputy Head teacher Elaine McGuckin. "It was a real experience for the children and they really enjoyed it.
"We decided it would be a really good idea to cover a different continent each year and this year it was South America.
"Latin Heart were in the school to give the children a taste of Peru, they showed us some salsa and played the pan pipes. A video they showed was fantastic and made everyone want to visit the country."
