A SUCCESSFUL chef is hoping to get the chance to show off his culinary expertise on a cookery programme.
David Coulson, Wynyard Golf Club's executive chef, has auditioned for BBCs Masterchef (The Professionals) in the hope of making it through to the live stages.
The chef travelled to Edinburgh to be interviewed and impress the producers with his innovative taste menus, culinary talents and passion for food. Mr Coulson, who heads a professional catering team at The Duke Suite Restaurant and has worked at top Michelin star restaurants, is trying to build up a reputation as one of the North-East's youngest and most talented chefs.
He said: "It was fantastic to audition for the competition and Im hopeful of getting through to the next round. Its a great opportunity and could help me achieve my ambition of having my own Michelin star restaurant here in the region."
