TEESSIDERS are being given help to beat one of the region's biggest killers - heart disease.
NHS Middlesbrough's Life Store is offering a free Healthy Heart Check to adults in Teesside between the ages of 40 and 74 who have not already got any existing heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes or had a stroke.
It gives a clearer picture of health and what steps can be taken to reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and kidney disease.
Chris Briddon, Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) Clinical Lead for NHS Tees said: "The good news is these conditions can often be prevented - even if you have a history of them in your family."
NHS Middlesbrough's Life Store is offering the 30 minute checks by appointment only every Saturday in February.
To make an appointment call the Life Store on 01642 737884.
