A FREE lunchtime talk will see Teesside University Business School lecturer Alex Gillett share his passion for rock music.
Alex plays guitar with The Eruptors, who have earned praise from the likes of rock music magazine Kerrang. He will talk about his music as part of the University's Culture on Campus programme.
The band's sound has been described as ranging from short sharp shocks of adrenalin fuelled mayhem, to lighters-in-the-air power ballads.
He said: "When I am teaching business students I can relate to my experiences in the music industry. Topics like music distribution and promotion are real business issues. The University supports me wearing both hats."
The musician will be joined during the talk by band members Geoff Irwin and Gareth Dylan Smith. The band will also perform some semi-acoustic versions of songs from their albums.
Let There Be Rock can be heard from 1pm to 2pm on Wednesday, November 11 in Room G0.13, Phoenix Building.
Admission is free and there is no need to book. For details about Culture on Campus visit tees.ac.uk/culture or email Janice Webster at j.webster@tees.ac.uk.
