A HOSPICE is calling on Santa's little helpers to get on their running shoes and raise cash for charity.
Teesside Hospice has already signed up three schools for its sponsored event and is challenging others to join in the fun.
The Santas Little Helpers Run takes place from Monday, November 30 and Friday, December 4.
And to get things underway a group of youngsters from Middlesbroughs Green Lane Primary School donned their Santa hats and hot footed it across the playing field.
The campaign is sponsored by Middlesbrough Healthy Towns with the aim of promoting healthy eating and exercise in the young.
Jane O'Byrne, the hospice's fundraising manager, said: "We hope people choose to support this initiative by hosting their own run; it can be as big or as small as they want.
"In exchange for their commitment, we will supply an easy guide to hosting the event along with sponsorship envelopes, stickers and certificates for every child who is taking part."
