POLICE are hunting a man after a teenager was attacked on a train in Hartlepool station.
British Transport Police said the victim was followed onto the 15.34 Middlesbrough to Newcastle Northern Rail service as it stood stationary on platform one at around 4pm on Tuesday, November 3.
BTP Officer Gary Sykes said: "The victim was punched and kicked in the face a number of times by the suspect who is believed to have followed him onto the train. There were a number of passengers onboard at the time of the assault and I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the assault to contact police."
The suspect is described as approximately 5ft 10 tall, slim build with short brown hair. He was wearing a dark blue Addidas top.
