YOUNG people's artwork is flying high on Redcar seafront.
Redcar and Cleveland Council's Anti-social Behaviour Team gave children the chance to design a series of flags, with ideas for making their communities safer.
The top ten designs, from two age groups, five to ten year olds and 11-16s, are now featured on ten flags along a stretch of the Esplanade near the town's lifeboat station.
The flags, which all have the winners' names on, represent the five themes of the Every Child Matters Agenda - stay safe, be healthy, enjoy and achieve, making a positive contribution and economic well being.
Councillor Dave McLuckie, the council's cabinet member for community protection, said: "The flags represent how children feel about the area they live in and what their future aspirations are."
The category winners, who have received prizes including I-pods and digital cameras, were: Economic Well Being: five-ten: Ella Snaith; 11-16: Sally Gilyeat.
Be Healthy: five-ten: Siobhan Allison; 11-16: Steph Herron.
Stay Safe: five-ten: Enna Stephens; 11-16: Tim Curd.
Enjoy & Achieve: five-ten: Kirsty Jayne Dundon; 11-16: Jennifer Johnson.
Make a Positive Contribution: five-ten: Chloe George; 11-16: Emma Birtwhistle.
