ONE of the world’s leading wildlife artists has donated a selection of work to his cousin, the Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, to be sold for charity.
Alan M. Hunt has sold work around the world but has given a selection of prints and original paintings to Councillor Barry Hunt, to be sold for the Mayor’s charities, Coatham House, which helps young homeless people, and Earthbeat, a theatre group for adults with learning difficulties.
Alan, originally from Dormanstown, near Redcar, has been painting for more than 50 years and his work has seen him visit locations as diverse as Madagascar, Peru and Antarctica to find subjects for his works.
His works have also been purchased by notable world dignitaries such as former US President Bill Clinton and the Sultan of Brunei.
On display in the Bellamy Pavilion at Kirkleatham Museum, Redcar are two original paintings and five limited edition prints by Alan M Hunt and three horse prints by Judi Kent Pyrah. Collectors and interested members of the public are being encouraged to come along to see the paintings and make a bid.
Mayor Barry Hunt said: “Alan’s paintings and prints are so realistic you feel like you are looking at a photograph rather than an artwork and the awards given to him are both well-deserved and a sign of how good his work is.”
