STOCKTON Sparkles Christmas Market will be transforming the heart of Stockton Town Centre this week and street theatre is planned for next month.
The High Street will become a winter wonderland with festive log cabins lining the newly regenerated street.
From Thursday, November 27 until Sunday, December 30 anyone visiting the town can peruse the log cabin village for a variety of gifts and edible treats ranging from candles, wood-turned crafts and decorations to sausages, warm-spiced mulled wine and speciality coffees.
Meanwhile, on Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28 young people from schools across the borough of Stockton will be hosting stalls at the market. For the last month they have been developing a range of innovative items to sell. Younger visitors will also be able to post their Christmas lists and letters to Santa Claus.
Stockton Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, Councillor Mike Smith, said: “Thanks to the regeneration of Stockton Town Centre we are able to host the Sparkles Christmas Market on the High Street for the first time."
Visitors will also be able to enjoy Christmas themed street theatre between Friday and Sunday, November 28 and 30. The festive entertainment will also return on Saturday, December 6 and Saturday, December 13.
Parking is free after 3pm in all Stockton Council short stay car parks in Stockton Town Centre from 28 November until 31 January 2014.
