AN avid Boro fan enjoyed an all-expenses paid VIP trip to watch England v Slovenia after winning a national competition.
Jamie McDonald, 36, from Guisborough, watched England’s 2016 Euro qualifying match at Wembley after joining Bannatyne’s Health Club in Coulby Newham and being entered in to a prize draw for new members.
Along with Bannatyne’s Health Clubs across the country, the Stainton Road Health Club entered all new, referred members into the draw with a chance of seeing England at Wembley.
Middlesbrough supporter Jamie McDonald and his brother-in-law, Ben Hollings travelled down to London and watched Wayne Rooney and Danny Wellbeck seal a 3-1 victory for England against Slovenia from a private box at Wembley stadium.
Mr McDonald said: “I was over the moon when I was contacted by the Health Club to say I had won the tickets. I have always wanted to see England play at Wembley and this was a dream come true for me. The incentive was a great idea and I am really enjoying using the facilities at the club.”
Matthew Emery, General Manager at Bannatyne’s Health Club in Coulby Newham, said: “The prize draw is a great idea and it is a great way to welcome new faces in the health club. We were delighted that Jamie could enjoy an England victory at Wembley and we look forward to seeing him in the health club in the future.”
