PROPOSALS for the redevelopment of a Thornaby primary school have been unveiled.
Mandale Mill Primary School will be rebuilt at a cost of millions of pounds although the figure has not been revealed.
The money has been released through the Government's Priority Schools Building Programme.
Stockton Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Councillor Ann McCoy, said: “This is a really exciting opportunity. We want our schools to reflect the needs and aspirations of both of pupils and the communities they serve.”
Acting Headteacher of Mandale Mill Primary School, Leanne Moore, said: “A new school is going to provide so many opportunities for the pupils, parents staff and governors. This is a very exciting time for the Thornaby community.”
Subject to planning approval being granted, it is hoped that work on the new school will start later in the year.
