A DRIVER was taken to hospital after colliding with a stationary car on Saturday (March 1).
The man, believed to be in his 40s or 50s, had been driving a BMW when it was in collision with the car on Redhill Road, Roseworth, Stockton, shortly after 7pm.
Stockton Fire Brigade stabilised the BMW, which was on its side, and removed him from the back of the vehicle. Paramedics took him to the nearby University Hospital of North Tees.
His injuries are not thought to be serious. Another man was in the stationary car but was unhurt.
TENNIS ANYONE? Tennis World on Marton Road, Middlesbrough will host a family fun day on Saturday, March 15 in an attempt to encourage more people to take up the sport. The two-hour event starts at 4.30pm and families will have a chance to take have a go at various fun tennis activities with a coach. ROYAL VISIT: The vice-chancellor of Teesside University has visited Buckingham Palace to receive a prestigious Royal honour on behalf of the university. The Queen presented the Queen’s Anniversary Prize to Professor Graham Henderson CBE DL. The prizes are given in recognition of excellence in higher and further education.
VIEW SOUGHT: People are being urged to give their views on proposed new guidelines to encourage good design of shop fronts in Hartlepool. Called the Shop Front Design Guide, the draft document has been written by Hartlepool Council’s Landscape Planning and Conservation Team. It can be viewed at www.hartlepool.gov.uk/shopfrontdesignguide or at Hartlepool Civic Centre. Comments should be sent to the Civic Centre or emailed to landscape.planning@hartlepool.gov.uk by Tuesday, April 22.
