Butterwick Children’s Hospice, in Stockton, is appealing for daredevils to help it raise funds by abseiling down the Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough.
Thrillseekers can scale the 165ft iconic structure from 8am on Sunday, April 13.

DOORWAYS APPEAL: A coffee morning tomorrow (Saturday, February 22) is the latest fundraiser for a cash-strapped young people’s project, in Saltburn. Bacon and sausage buns will be served at Saltburn Methodist Hall, Milton Street, from 10am until noon in aid of Doorways, which costs more than £50,000 a year to run. The service helps unemployed locals as well as ex-offenders and homeless sofa-surfers.
DOG KENNELS: Saltburn Animal Rescue Association (SARA) has applied for listed building consent to convert the ground floor of a small barn into two dog kennels at its Foxrush Farm sanctuary off Kirkleatham Lane, in Redcar. The groups is also asking Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council for permission to install a cattery and rabbit units in the courtyard.
