A CHARITY is set to celebrate World Autism Day on Teesside with the return of its annual celebration seminar.
MAIN, which works with people on the autism spectrum, will invite a number of guest speakers focusing on the theme of health.
Outreach worker Kelly Pounder said: “World Autism Day is a huge event in the autism community, parents, carers, professionals and people with autism celebrate autism together.
“We’re really looking to recruit volunteers to help the organization grow."
Speakers include Dr Helen Pearce from the Adult Autism Service Teesside and Lynne Moxon, a clinical psychologist specialising in adults with autism.
The Middlesbrough charity also offer training to families or to pretty much anyone who wants to get involved with the charity.
Events manager Helen Jaques said: “A common theme is finding someone who understands about the condition and can, by result, separate what is Autism and what is a general health issue."
Tickets for the event, on Wednesday, April 2, at Southlands Centre, Ormesby Road, Middlesbrough, start from £10 for unpaid workers and those on the autism spectrum in Teesside.
