HUNDREDS of pupils in Stockton gathered to meet a best-selling children’s author as part of a series of reading events.
Cathy Cassidy greeted pupils from 13 Stockton Borough schools to answer questions, sign books and provide a read of her new book “Coco Caramel”.
The author shared stories about her writing career and her past career in journalism in the sessions organised by Stockton Council and Yarm School.
Headmaster David Dunn: "We were honoured to have such a well-renowned author visit our impressive auditorium, which was a delight for everyone in attendance.
“It was interesting to hear about Cathy's decorated career and I would like to thank her for visiting the school and wish her all the best with her writing career.”
Councillor Ken Dixon, Stockton Borough council’s cabinet member for arts, leisure and culture, said: “There’s nothing better than listening to an author read their own work so this was an excellent opportunity for all the young people to meet an author in the flesh, ask questions and find out about a career in writing and journalism.”
