Revellers are being invited to pack a picnic on Sunday if they are visiting Hartlepool’s Ward Jackson Park from 1pm to 4pm. It is hosting the ‘big lunch’, an annual community get-together and ‘bandstand unplugged’, part of the Festival of the North which will feature musicians from the Red Dreams charity.
GLOBE SCREENING: Shakespeare’s Globe on Screen season starts with Henry V which will be broadcast from the London theatre to Showcase Cinema at Teesside Leisure Park, Stockton, on Monday, June 3, at 7pm and Wednesday 5 June at 2.30pm. Shakespeare’s masterpiece of the turbulence of war and peace is directed by the Globe’s Artistic Director Dominic Dromgoole. ART REVIVAL: A meeting is being held called ‘Drawing Symposium – The Future of A Drawing Competition for Middlesbrough’ when the public can join staff from Mima gallery of modern art, curators and artists to discuss how the town could bring back an international drawing competition, leading on from the Cleveland Drawing Biennale that ended in the 1990s.
