A SPECIALIST Alzheimer’s nursing residential service has been supporting Stockton Dementia Awareness Week.
Cleveland Alzheimer’s Residential Centre (Clevearc), which is based in Thornaby, has been visiting a range of venues to inform the public about dementia and offer advice alongside other organisations.
Chief Executive of Clevearc, Gayle Tweed, was joined by Dementia Friendly Communities Link Worker Peter Prior in visiting libraries in Stockton, Thornaby and Billingham.
The events will finish in the George Hardwick Foundation at Wellington Square on tomorrow (Friday) between 10am and 4pm.
As well as advice or information about dementia, the events including reminiscence activities including Remembering the 1950s with Beamish and, IT for older people, Gardens in Mind and Dementia Friends.
Tomorrow’s event will include activities for people affected by dementia and their carers and using I-pads in dementia care.
